Here is what Jim Hughes, Stock Eliminator World Champion drag racer and winner of the two most recent NHRA National events in LAS VEGAS, has to say:

"In the past few years, I bought and paid for two sets of Schubeck flat lifter at $640 and one set of Schubeck flat Hydraulic lifters at $720 to set up three engines, for a total of $2,000. Just prior to that, I burned through eleven camshafts and eleven sets of standard lifters. I kept an accurate account of the cost to rebuild after each of these cam-scrubbing affairs and here is how it worked out on paper.

"My figures are based on not replacing the pistons, which is not often the case, but regardless, the clean-up and rebuild cost for each incident averaged $800. In a very short period of time (18 months) I spent $8,800. Not to mention the mental aggravation that had me on the brink of deciding to quit racing.

"When I heard Schubeck had a solution to this madness, I was interested, but skeptical. I only knew I could not continue like I was. The bottom line is this: No more scrubbed cams, no more time consuming rebuilds, no more aggravation. I now have the ability to try new cams using the same lifters, with no break-in . Everyone's time is worth money, but let's look at just the hard dollars. $2,000 vs. $8,800. Need I say more?"  --Jim Hughes.
